Getting Connected

First United Methodist Church's mission is to connect people to God and each other.  FUMC offers many spiritual growth and Biblical study opportunities throughout the year.  Discipleship is vital to our understanding of God and each other.  On an ongoing basis, FUMC offers a range of opportunities for growth.  Some regular offerings include the following:

Disciple Bible Studies - These Bible studies are offered each fall.  This fall there is a Disciple I Class and a Christian Believer Class.

Short Term Bible Studies - During the year, FUMC offers short term studies focusing on various topics.  Two regular short-term studies are the Advent Bible Study and the Lenten Bible Study.  Also, Celebration Women's Ministry offers short term Bible studies.  Consult The Voice or call the church office for dates and times.

Closer Walk Membership Class - This class is for people who are interested in knowing about First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church in general.  The class, offered quarterly on Sunday mornings, is led by FUMC ministers.  Here, you will meet other people and find out how you would best fit at FUMC.  Contact the church office for more information.

Lula Newnham Lecture Series -  Each year First United Methodist Church invites speakers who are experts in their field of study, such as Methodist history, Christian education, and Biblical studies, to come for a few days and speak to the congregation.  The local community members are also invited to attend.
