Foreign and Domestic Mission Teams - First United Methodist Church is active in sending teams to assist in the building of schools, churches, and houses within the United States and in other countries. These trips focus not only on building structures but also on building relationships with local residents. Teams have traveled to Belize, Mexico, Colorado, Tennessee, South Texas, and Louisiana. Most trips are approximately 10 days and take place in the summer months. People interested in participating in a mission trip should contact Rev. Mike Schutz at (903) 753-4463.
Society of St. Stephen - The Society gives emergency aid to the needs of the indigent. Your financial assistance and canned-good offerings help the Society to be able to give help to those in need. Offerings left at the Communion rail and fod left in the receptacles at the Welcome Center and Cook Foyer, will aid the needy of our community through the Society. The Society is open from 11:00 a.m. - 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Contact Rev. Mike Schutz at (903) 753-4463.
Newgate Methodist Mission - Newgate provides worship opportunities, food, clothing, career, and computer services for the indigent. Contact Rev. Jenenne Laurnec at (903) 757-6146.

Asbury House Child Enrichment Center - Asbury House provides quality child enrichment for preschool and kindergarten aged children whose parents cannot afford such care. Contact Pam Surles at (903)753-4463.
Windridge Equestrian Center - Located north of Longview, Windridge provides education, recreation, and therapy to children and adults with special needs through therapeutic horsemanship. Contact Margo Dewkett at (903) 797-2414.
Habitat for Humanity - This international program offers low cost home ownership to low-income families by allowing the family and community volunteers to partner together in the building of the home. Our church participates in Habitat for Humanity by building houses in our community each year. Contact Rev. Mike Schutz at (903) 753-4463.
Longview Community Ministries - LCM is the umbrella organization for helping the indigent in the Longview area. It includes Meals on Wheels, The Food Box, and the Salvation Army Stewpot. Call (903) 753-3561.
East Texas Literacy Council - Volunteers are trained to tutor individuals to learn to read. Contact Jennifer Slade at (903) 757-9302.
Music Ministry Volunteers - Would you like to be in the music ministry but don't have the time to commit to an regular ensemble? We are always looking for help - organizing music, mailing postcards, etc. Please contact Paul Roberts at (903) 753-4463.
Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network (LIHN) - Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network, or LIHN, is an area-wide, church-based ministry that supports families without housing as they search for jobs, undergo job training, and obtain permanent housing. LIHN's goal is to provide a safe environment in which families without homes can stay together while they receive the assistance they need to get on their feet. The Carpenter's Friend - The Carpenter’s Friend was organized in the church to help our seniors, and those who are disabled or handicapped who struggle with minor repairs and odd jobs around the house.
