Upcoming Children's Events
Kidz Blitz begins every Wednesday evening at 6:00 and ends at 7:30. We meet in room 212. We share dinner, fellowship, recreation, large group experiences, and small group discussions. We learn to make wiser choices, build stronger relationships, and develop a deeper faith. We look forward to seeing you there!
Sunday School is a great time to come together with your peers and learn, fellowship, and grow together in our faith journey. We start each Sunday morning with Praise Time and then split up into our Sunday School classes.
Jesus said, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12). The presence of the light reminds us of Jesus coming into our world and into our lives. The light is carried into the worship service as a symbol of Jesus coming into our presence. Acolytes serve each Sunday and bring this light into the sanctuary and back out into the world. All second through fifth graders are invited to serve as acolytes.
A fun afternoon of fellowship as we welcome fall with our church family and the community - complete with bounce houses for all ages, a cupcake walk, food, carnival games, and lots of candy!
KID'S CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
The Children's Christmas Eve Service is a wonderful worship opportunity for children of all ages and their families. We invite you to come and learn about our Savior's birth, sing familiar Christmas Hymns, and finish the evening with glow sticks and "Silent Night." Children step up and read scriptures, lead worship, and light the Advent Candles.
HOLY WEEK IN AN EGGSHELL
An interactive family worship experience geared towards teaching children about Holy Week in a meaningful and hands-on way! A great time for all family members.

Vacation Bible School
This year we will host Vacation Bible School July 15th - 19th. This year's theme is "Power Up!" Kids will be challenged to raise their game because knowing God and trusting Jesus fills each of us with the Fruit of the Spirit. "God's power has given us everything we need to live a Godly life" 2 Peter 1:3a
Fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to go out into the community and serve as Jesus' hands and feet. They will complete local small mission projects during the week of July 15th - 19th. They will join Vacation Bible School for the opening and closing ceremonies but will be out in our community serving the rest of the time. From Newgate to Asbury House and more! What a great time for these kids to show the love of Christ to others.
It is among our top priorities at First United Methodist Church to keep your children safe and accounted for. To best ensure this, we will continue utilizing a digital check-in method. It will be mandatory for children ages birth through fifth grade to be checked in by a parent or guardian at all church events where children are being dropped off.
There will be two check-in stations on Sunday mornings. You will find one in the nursery and there will be another one on the first floor in the main hall intersection. On Wednesday evenings, there will be a check-in station at the top of the stairs by the doors to the Youth Wing. Two labels will print out at check-in. One label for your child to wear and one label for the parent/guardian. The parent label MUST be presented to the teachers upon pick up. Loren and other volunteers will be at these check-in stations to assist with check-in.
