Disciple Bible Studies - September 2008
Time is drawing near for the Disciple Bible Studies to begin. You may fill out a registration card located in the Sanctuary pew pocket and return it to the church office, or phone the office at (903) 753-4463 to register.
Staff Needed In Our Church Nursery
Childcare workers are needed in the church nursery on Sunday mornings from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. For those interested in these paid positions, please call Sherel Conklin, Nursery Director, at 903-753-4463.
August Book Review
The UMW Book Review will be held on Tuesday, August 19 in the Heritage Room of the Faith Center. Mrs. Field will review a section of the compilation by different authors titled “Creative Years.” Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m.; the book review begins at 10:00 a.m.
Adult Educator Recognition Sunday
On Sunday, August 24, we will recognize and honor those who have given their time and talent so selflessly year after year. These dedicated educators have devoted their time and talent so that others can learn and grow in faith. These educators’ years of service range from 10+ years to 30+ years. Plaques honoring these educators will be placed on the second floor near the elevator doors and updated annually.
Celebrate Calm Workshop for Parents
On Thursday, August 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at FUMC, School for Little Children and the FUMC Children’s Ministry Council are sponsoring a workshop for parents. This workshop is led by best-selling author and nationally-recognized expert Kirk Martin. The cost is $5.00 per person; NO childcare will be provided.
United Methodist Circle Meeting
The UMW Circle Meeting is Tuesday, August 26 at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Mary Ann Dexter (1104 Apache Ct). The Bible Study is titled Global Song and will be presented by Paul Roberts.
FUMC Ministry Fair
On Sunday, September 7, in the Hughes Welcome Center, Evangelism/Assimilation is hosting Committee and Sunday School “informational tables.” Members of specific committees and Sunday School classes will be at each table to answer questions and offer sign-ups for you and your guests to plug into a specific ministry of interest. A luncheon starting at 10:45 and continuing through the noon hour, will be provided by the Youth Choir. The luncheon is free of charge. A love offering will be taken at the door; proceeds will be received by the Youth Choir.
