Stocks and IRA Giving

Stock may be donated to FUMC Longview by transferring investments to the FUMC brokerage account. Please contact Bruce Cammack at RBC Wealth Management 903-753-5343.

If you have an IRA and must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), you may have your RMD sent directly to FUMC as a qualified charity. The donation will count as your RMD but won’t increase your adjusted gross income, which can be advantageous for tax purposes. As always, prior to making any IRA withdrawals you should consult with a qualified tax advisor or certified financial planner for advice and requirements regarding this legislation and your tax situation.
