Music and Fine Arts 

Our Music and Fine Arts Teams exist to encourage, celebrate, and sustain God’s gift of creativity through music and fine arts.

Our ministries include the Chancel Choir, the Kidz Connect choir, our Hurst Handbell group, a Men’s Singing Quartet, and various other ensembles that perform throughout the year. Instrumentalists join in leading worship.

We are also blessed to offer Music and Fine Arts programs throughout the year.

The Fine Arts Council is part of the Music and Fine Arts Ministry of FUMC Longview, and it is dedicated to bringing a wide variety of fine arts events to our church. All events are open to the public and admission is free.

Join us as we make music to the Lord.

  • All are welcome in our Chancel Choir. We sing each Sunday morning at 8:30 am and 10:45 am in the Traditional services with a mixture of hymns and anthems. We are joined occasionally by orchestras. We also host many other special events throughout the year!

    Chancel Choir practice is Wednesday evenings, 6:30 pm-7:30 pm.

  • The Hurst Handbells rehearse at the church on Monday mornings from 11 am - Noon. The Handbells are a three-octave handbell group. They regularly perform during worship services and at community events throughout the year. The Handbells also travel to perform for the residents of local nursing homes.

  • Our Kidz Connect Choir regularly performs at our 10:45 am Beacon Worship in the sanctuary. Along with singing Kidz Connect enjoy boomwhackers, handbells, recorders and other musical instruments.

    Kidz Connect is for children Pre-K4 through 4th grade. The group practices on Wednesday nights at 6 pm in the Music Suite as part of Wednesday Night Live.

  • The Horizon Praise Band helps lead the contemporary worship of our church family, The Horizon band practices on Thursday nights in the Faith Center.
